The Breakthrough Project offers a confidential counselling service for adults aged 18+ from its central Newtownabbey location.
The practice is led by Julie Halliday, a qualified integrative counsellor who is passionate about improving mental health. Julie is a member of the National Counselling Society and is listed on its Accredited Register, which is approved by the Professional Standards Authority.
Having witnessed the devastating impact of poor mental health across our community, Julie founded The Breakthrough Project to provide access to counselling services at the point of need.
The Breakthrough Project has a strong social purpose - to improve the mental health and wellbeing of our community; and provide support to those least able to access these specialist counselling services.
We are committed to improving access to mental health services and use 25% of our fees to provide subsided or free of charge interventions to people within our community. Our business model is Profit with Purpose, so by choosing us you are helping to support others in need.
Our practice is based on the belief that you are the expert on your own life and that with help, you will find the solutions to your problems.
At The Breakthrough Project our priority is to support you on your journey by offering acceptance, non-judgement and a fresh perspective.
We provide a therapeutic counselling service for self-discovery, reflection and problem-solving, to allow you to move forward towards improved wellbeing.
